About the Officiant
I am a member of the GLBT community and have been with my partner for 14 fabulous years. We love to travel with our friends, and spend time with our families and each other. Our friends are very special to us both, and the love and support they provide makes for a wonderful and very blessed life!
I became ordained and registered with the State of Minnesota in May of 2013, and have been performing wedding ceremonies since the same-sex marriage law went into effect in Minnesota on August 1, 2013.
The first wedding I performed was for a long time friend of mine and her partner. She called and asked me if I would officiate the ceremony at their home on the lake. She stated “we want it simple and personal with just a few family and friends”.
The joy I felt when I officiated that wedding made me think that I could do this for others, not just our close friends.
We talked with other friends about getting married and what their ideal wedding would look like. Some wanted it traditional with white dresses in a church, others wanted something more contemporary, in a park or garden. Finally some wanted something far out like a wedding on home plate of the softball field where they met. No matter who we spoke with, the same theme kept coming up—we want to create something unique to us.
That is what brought me to this point of officiating weddings. I created “I Do” Wedding Ceremonies.
Your wedding –your way!
I am committed to helping create a ceremony tailored to each couple no matter what they are looking for, depending on their style, their beliefs, but most of all, their expectations for that special day.
